Your time in Mykonos will be even better if you check out a few great places at sunset

#1 The Windmills and Little Venice

Little Venice and the windmills are located in the mere center of Mykonos town, and they are minutes away from each other, so you can see them at the same time. Little Venice is full of lovely bars and restaurants with a sea view. Just imagine how beautiful it would be to watch the sun getting melted in the azure blue water while sipping cocktails and enjoying a meal.

Lovely Windmills Are One of the Most Instagrammable Spots in Mykonos

Windmills are one of the hallmarks of Mykonos, and we’re sure you would visit them anyway, but our suggestion would be to come and see them when the sun is low on the horizon. This will add a new array of colors and make this quite Instagrammable spot even more splendid. The photos will be amazing – we can promise you that!

There aren’t many places in Greece like this – Mykonos is just the best

#2 Armenistis Lighthouse

Guarding the coast of Mykonos since 1891, Armenistis Lighthouse is one of the key landmarks of this Greek island. It is located in the northwestern part of Mykonos, just 6.5 km from Mykonos town – you can get here by taking the road to Agios Stefanos. It will take you just 15 minutes of your time, so it’s a great addition to the day you plan to spend in Mykonos town.

This lovely 19 m high monument is actually still functional, and its strategic location allows it to overlook the beautiful parts of the sea and the nearby isle of Tinos. The place is simply perfect for looking at the horizon, especially when the sun is low. It will make you feel like you’re in a different time – it’s so different from the trendy Mykonos we’re used to.

#3 Kiki’s Taverna

Kiki’s is one of the unique spots in Mykonos, and not just for its sunset over the Agios Sostis beach – although it surely adds to the appeal of this well-known taverna. It’s a family-run business with a few interesting details that set it apart from other restaurants in Mykonos. Kiki’s doesn’t advertise – and it doesn’t need to. You won’t find their Instagram page because they don’t have it. They have countless guests even without showing off their Mykonos food – this restaurant is simply just that good.

The restaurant works without electricity, and everything is prepared on a charcoal grill. They also don’t take reservations, and people literally stand in line for an hour before the place opens so they can get the best seats. The restaurant is situated under grapevines which makes the atmosphere even more impressive. Coming here is a must-do when in Mykonos – be sure to try grilled pork chops with their baked potato, and don’t forget salads and wine.

Which Beach Do You Have to See at Sunset Before You Leave the Island?

There are so many beaches that you probably won’t be able to visit every single one, no matter how long your vacation is.
